Meals

We all value the time our children spend out in the gardens and over time we have developed our gardens so that the children can be involved in growing their own food, taking it from seed to plate.

We have our own on site kitchen at Central, where we can produce seasonal, home-cooked food with locally sourced, quality ingredients for both our nurseries. Our food is the energy keeping our children going so they can learn, grow, develop and play with the right fuel inside them. We would like to offer everyone the chance to try our menu and for everyone to eat together.

Our chef, Mr Paul Varney, is fully qualified with over 20 year's experience, working in restaurants, at QMC hospital and for Derby University hospitality team. He was the driving force behind the plot to plate initiative with a National Trust setting, which worked with families to grow, harvest and cook with seasonal produce. As a father of a young daughter he knows only too well about the importance of a healthy diet.

We believe that mealtime is an important part of a child's social development.  All meals are served as family style dining with children eating in small groups with their peers.

Central and Ashgate Nurseries are nut free schools
