Intent
Our school vision 'Education: an adventure to be enjoyed' is for all of our children encompassing every level of development and need. As part of our vision, we have based our inclusive, holistic curriculum on the forest school and farm school approaches.
We believe that young people learn better through hands-on, multi-sensory, meaningful experiences in the fresh air. Our curriculum enables them to acquire knowledge and understanding through repeated real-life tasks that stimulate their natural curiosity. Using a variety of outdoor learning strategies, these aim not only to provide a constructive, pleasurable, creative and inspiring approach, they also seek to aid children in their ability to transfer skills and knowledge into the classroom and into life beyond the school gates.
To ensure children make outstanding progress, it is our intent to take into consideration their starting points, experiences at home and needs. It is our aim to work collaboratively with parents and carers to encourage independent, enthusiastic learners who thrive and reach their full potential through our curriculum plans.
We endeavour to give the children the Cultural Capital they need for future success. Our curriculum is carefully planned to ensure coverage and progression. Alongside this, we follow individual children's interests and needs, allowing us to plan in the moment and provide new, challenging and exciting opportunities throughout our EYFS curriculum to support learning and development and achieve their next steps.
We wish our children to believe in themselves and their abilities and capabilities, to belong to the school learning community and the wider community and to become successful in building relationships and making contributions to their future school, social, family and community lives.
